If you suffer from dry eyes, or have recurrent problems with scratchiness, irritation, or redness in your eyes, you may qualify to enroll in our current FDA trial evaluating a new eye drop for the treatment of dry eye disease. Dr. Pandit is our Principal Investigtor on this nationwide study. If you qualify for the study, you will be paid for your participation as well as for your parking costs on visits to our office. If interested, please call to speak to Monica, our study coordinator.
HTexas magazine's annual survey of Houston's Top Doctors was released in February 2009. This year, Dr. Pandit joined his partners Dr. Key and Dr. Coburn in being listed as one of the best ophthalmologists in Houston. Ratings are based on peer and reader evaluations.
Dr. Coburn spoke on "Hurricane Katrina: The Houston Response" at the 2007 American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting in New Orleans as part of the Ophthalmology and Disaster Response Symposium on November 11, 2007. She was also interviewed for an article on 'Disaster Preparedness' for Eyenet magazine in July 2008. Dr. Coburn, along with others from the Houston Ophthalmology Society, helped lead the ophthalmology response to Hurricane Katrina refugees in 2005. The seminar also included eye injuries and treatment strategies related to the Oklahoma City bombing, New York City 9/11, and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Dr. Coburn also recently presented this work at another national meeting in April, and she has received an award from the Houston Ophthalmology Society for her service and volunteerism.
Dr. Key, an expert on contact lenses, delivered a talk at the 2007 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology during a symposium on contact lenses on November 11. He was part of a panel of experts discussing current trends, issues, and complications regarding contact lenses and their solutions. Earlier in the year he delivered a talk on the current advances in contact lens solution technologies in the United Kingdom at the annual meeting of the European Contact Lens Society of Ophthalmologists.
Dr. Pandit spoke on 'Laser and Surgical Vision Options for Vision Correction' in a didactic talk for Methodist Hospital's International Services that was broadcast live to South American physicians and allied health professionals on November 13, 2007.

A recent outbreak of severe, vision-threatening corneal infections related to one brand of contact lens solution prompted WB Channel 39 to interview Dr. Key for his medical expertise. Dr. Key has been involved in hundreds of FDA clinical trials for contact lenses and solutions, and is a past president of CLAO, the Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmologists. Dr. Pandit was featured on Houston's Channel 13 news in January 2006, highlighting a unique surgery available for some patients with a corneal disease known as keratoconus. Dr. Pandit is trained in performing this surgery, which caught the attention of Christi Myers, WKTRK's Health Check reporter. To see the video, click on the picture to the right.
Dr. Pandit is one of a few Houston physicians trained on the Allegretto Wave laser. This laser boasts a completely new methodology of laser ablation, resulting in less aberrated corneas and better visual outcomes. It completes its work in a fraction of the time required by most other lasers, and has the fastest response rate in any eye tracker available.
